Handmade Wood Kitchen Cutting Boards
Shown on this page are my medium sized cutting boards.These boards
don't take up a lot of space, but are big enough to do the job. Every
cutting board featured is handmade, by me, here in my Sedona, AZ. work
shop. I use only kiln dried premium quality hardwoods. The turquoise
used comes from either the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine, near Globe,
AZ., or the Cripple Creek Mine, in Cripple Creek, CO. The epoxy used to
inlay with, once hardened, is totally non-toxic and besides setting the
turquoise, also protects the turquoise from the every day rigors of
use. Your knife blades will neither be damaged by cutting on the inlay
surface, nor will the inlay be damaged. In most cases, I only
inlay one side of the board, but finish both sides. By doing this, I
find that most people use the blank side for cutting and use the inlay
side for show. I drill holes in most of my cutting boards so that it
may be hung up to display. Each board has been pre-conditioned, by me,
with two hand rubbed coats of a non-toxic, food-safe, bees wax based
finish which seals and protects the wood from moisture and drying out.
